One thing is absolutely unacceptable on the anti-terrorist front – this is the use of double or sometimes triple standards. The same terrorists cannot be terrorists on Monday and become moderate opposition on Tuesday. Undoubtedly, we need all sane forces to consolidate in order to fight this evil of the 21st century,” Sergey Shoigu said in an address to the Russia-India intergovernmental commission on military and technical cooperation. Shoigu took part in the commission’s session as part of his visit to New Delhi.

In the same speech at the meeting which took place October 15-16, he mentioned that the leaders of Russia and India agreed to broaden military and technical cooperation, and already issued the corresponding orders to their governments.

We are already registering considerable progress in our major projects, such as the Kamov-226 helicopter, the Brahmos missile, and the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft system,” the minister said, adding that the two nations also had a major navy development program that included the building of a submarine fleet.

After the talks that took place in Goa, India as part of an October summit of BRICS nations, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a number of deals securing India’s purchase of Russian air defense systems, collaboration in making stealth frigates, and setting up facilities for joint production of Kamov-226 helicopters. The total amount of the deal is about $6.4 billion.
